Clearance section at WHERE?

Friday, July 18, 2008

I gave in. I gave in! I gave in to the Apple craze. I am now a owner of an iPod. Seriously, I told myself for the longest time that I know there has to be some other great MP3 player out there besides the iPod. I mean how bad can you mess up a MP3 player? All it has to do is play music, right? Wrong. Now I understand why iPods are selling like hot cakes (that’s the right saying right?).

I have to admit not only does it cover the bare necessities of what a normal MP3 player should do, it goes beyond borders. It’s stylish (IMO (I hate you Justin for getting me to say IMO all the time)) and it’s super clean cut. It has photos, videos, games and mine even has a search function! I got my iPod in white because I have a mild case of OCD and I thought about how odd the earphones would look if the body was black. It’s round edges are so smooth and the reflective back doesn’t; hurt someone like me that’s checking a mirror every ten minutes of my life. How smart, using a circle to break the consistently of all blocks of rectangles.

Oh and guess what’s the best part of this iPod is. Just guess. I mean after all I am a super shopper. Alright, here’s the deal. I got this iPod in the CLEARANCE section of the Apple store. Whoa, what? Back up. Yes, there is a clearance section at the Apple store! Click on the link I made! (: Takes you straight there. Happy Shopping!

Well, I got my 5.5 generation iPod for only $170 (retail when it first came out was $249). Yes, this is a completely new iPod! I personally don’t like the new 6th generation iPod. I mean it’s either black or silver. SILVER? That’s not so sleek in my opinion (aka IMO if you didn’t get it when I used it earlier). It looks like a tin can.

I’m rather sad because I will be using my old mp3 player a lot less now. I mean it’s not broken. It just wasn’t working with stubborn Vista. Plus, if you’ve seen my old mp3 player it looks like a tape recorder…but bigger. I guess I’ll just use it as an external drive instead. All good.

The only downer of the iPod is that I was saving this money up for a new phone. Now that I invested in an iPod it better be worth it. I guess my phone will have to wait. Either that, or I’ll take up a second job. I got two months to kill before school starts anyways.

One last note, the Dark Knight was “the shit” (in a good way)! I’ll write more about it later, like how I waited in line for almost two hours in the cold and how I got tickets in advance. Take it easy; good nights.

Technology hates me: Phones.

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

It’s been an established fact for awhile now that technology hates me. But no matter how many times my phone drop my calls or purge itself (it’s borderline bulimic), or how many times my mp3 player decided to freeze up on me and let’s not forget the time it decided be stubborn and decide not to be compatible with Vista (more like Vista was the stubborn one actually), I will still adore technology.

I’ve been eyeing the Helio’s Ocean for the longest time, even before it was released. I’m a sucker for dual sliders. It’s so cool. I mean you can have a normal slider phone with numeric keypad and then, BAM! a full QWERTY keyboard. But don’t forget the fact that technology hates me, okay? The Helio’s Ocean only runs on their own plan so I can’t use AT&T or T-mobile on it. I’m a SIM card fan, btw. But lo and behold, my prayers have been answered. Today I found out that AT&T and the creators of the Helio’s Ocean has combined forces and released the PanTech Duo aka C810 … a year ago. Hahaha. How did this slip out of my hand? Maybe because I was too into the Helio’s Ocean at the time. I mean you have to admit. A dual slider is pretty cool. Here’s the Helio’s Ocean and the the Pantech Duo.

Helio’s Ocean. Very cute and sleek eh? I think so. Pantech Duo - more stubby looking. But the fact that I can use AT&T with this phone is making me a happy camper.

Nonetheless, I am still in love with Sony Ericsson. I remember the friends I hung out with in High school all had Sony Ericssons. We were the only group of people that was like “Once you go Sony Ericsson, you don’t go back,” (no, it wasn’t supposed to rhyme) and it’s true! It’s hard for me to convert to Helio’s of Pantech’s even though their dual sliders are so appealing! I really think that Sony Ericsson should come up with a dual slider. I’ll even be their representative if they wanted me to…for free! But I don’t think they would want me to do that.

I think she’s a beauty. The w580. Orange, slider (boo! not a dual slider!) and has all the functions I want: calling, texting, photo taking, organization tools.

I’ve got a hundred or so saved up. I should invest in a new phone considering the fact that my old one is well, dead. I’ve had it for a little more than two years and decided not to get a new phone when I got my new plan. Talk about having regrets, ugh.

Look at that. Binny (yes I name my electronics), you’ve good to me even though you purge (Bulimic!) and delete all your own memory (Wait, maybe it’s Alzheimer’s?!) sometimes. I don’t blame you. Just look at yourself: scratched up keypad, super glue stains all over you, being dropped all day long, being thrown around when angry, missing piece at battery door, and oh, did i mention the messed up camera rim?

….Don’t let me raise your children. (:

Stressed out Ramblings on College

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Excuse my French but, Fuck my life. I feel like yelling one moment and crying the next moment. This is all due to the fact that mother nature hates/loves me and wants me to shed my uterus lining every month. I am very open to talking about things like this; I mean some people would say too much information but currently, I’m not asking if anyone thinks this is too much information. And case in point, I don’t mind my boyfriend reading this neither.

College has yet to start. I am already feeling all stress out. I can feel a pimple forming on the top of my forehead. Attractive, I know. I want to switch my major because I am an impulsive person with way too may ambitions. I mean I still want to be a Psychology major but little did I know, UC Irvine has two Psychology departments/programs. There is one in School of Social Ecology which is Psychology and Social Behavior and one on School of Social Science which is Psychology Cognitive Science. The first one is more emotions, mental health, development and clinical as to the second one is more neuroscience, linguistics, and philosophy. Am I throwing too much information out?!

I don’t know why I didn’t switch my major when it was hassle-free at SPOP orientation but now I’m going to have to drive (more like my boyfriend drive, thank you!) another two hours to and back just so I can meet with some academic counselor and talk to them.

I had everything set: wake up tomorrow, drive down to Irvine, talk to the academic counselor, switch majors, leave happy. But no, something is stopping me. I feel like I have to sleep on it. I already know I want to switch into this major but I feel like since I have no infomation on it whatsoever, it’s stopping me. I mean when I went to my orientation they gave us all these papers and helped us pick our classes for our majors. But now, I am in another major so those paper are all useless. My friend is going to her orientation tomorrow and will be back Thursday. I told her to get me some papers so I can feel a bit secure.

I don’t know if my academic counselor would be able to help me pick my classes for me or have those papers that I would have gotten if I went to my major orientation. Why is college so confusing? I have a hard time believe I will even finish my first year.

You can pretty much say, I am at all-time low. I feel so depressed and I just want to go home. But the thing is I’m typing this at the comfort at my home so I really don’t know where I want to go. I need to sleep. But I know I’m going to be up thinking about my major switch and classes. I don’t know what to do with my impulsive, ambitious, frustrating & difficult self.

In the process: Cleaning my room

Monday, July 14, 2008

I’m in the process of cleaning out my room. That’s right, it’s finally time to throw out everything from the K-12 years and only keep what made me, well me. Going through all the papers, binders and projects I’ve done for the past of well pretty much my lifetime so far was a whole mix of emotions. I saw drawings of Sailor Moon & Pokemon I made in the 2nd grade and read the emo poems about love and death I wrote in 7th grade and then I saw my white in gold lining high school diploma that I received at the end of my 12th grade. Is this for reals? In a blink of an eye, I grew up from being the little kid in straight cut bangs and yellow teddy bear t-shirt to the girl still has those bangs but is going to be attending University of California, Irvine this fall?! Whoa, slow down.

I’ll most likely take photos of items that I found in my room in a few couple of post later. It’s too late to take photos now. Now that I know where I misplaced everything, I feel a bit more responsible. See Mother, I didn’t lose it; I just misplaced it.

I also added sections to my closet. I don’t get it, really. Every time I clean and rearrange my closet I always manage to find more things than I expected. I mean I didn’t know I owned so many pairs of underwear! Now, I don’t have an excuse to buy them anymore because damn it, I know how many pairs I have. Well let’s not digress, the point I’m making is, every time I clean my closet I throw things out, donate things away and/or sell them online but still there is not enough room! I know I am a shopaholic but I know I buy other things than just clothes. I guess I will be taking tons of photos of my used clothes very soon and putting them in my shop. Guess I can tell you to keep a heads up for that? (:

I only have one room now and I can’t keep up. Imagine when I have two rooms, one at home and one at my dorm, how will I ever manage?

What’s in my Closet: CCT Red Tshirt Dress

Saturday, July 12, 2008

It’s rather “fobby” looking you would say, but in other words it’s just what you would find people wearing if you go back to Asia - all parts of Asia. I ordered this through a website in black and red. Impulsive buy? Yes. Extremely cute? Yes.

This dress is in Freesize. Asian clothing stores have a size called Freesize. Seriously, what is a freesize?! Simple enough, it’s a one size fit all. But in honest words, you might have to have a smaller frame since Asian clothing stores are targeted toward people with smaller frame.

It’s new with the tags still on I only tried it on to see if it would fit. It’s still in it’s original plastic bag wrapping. It did, but the shape was awkward on me. The bow in the back is extremely cute and the side has pockets.

This item is currently on sale at Mango Shoppe, check it out here. You know, just because it’s in my closet doesn’t mean it can’t be in yours. (:
